Art Projects

Everyone thinks they can be an artist. Actually, they're right. All you have to do to make art is to try. And try some more. Right now, I'm fixated on stained glass, so that's what I'm working on. But at some point, I'll pick up a paint brush again...

Stained Glass

I started my glasswork by taking a glass bead making class. I was hooked! But I didn't have a studio or a place I could safely make my creations. Then I moved onto glass fusing. I love the finished product, but I hated the process. You put your piece together and wait 12, 18, and even 24 hours for the kiln to do it's magic. Then half the time, it doesn't turn out and you have to start all over again. I wasn't patient enough.

I finally took a stained glass class, even though I think a lot of the stained glass I see is incredibly ugly. But some of it is sublime. And I loved working with the different colors and textures of the glass--it is so tactile. So, I'm trying to find a balance between ugly and lovely. It's a process...

I've started to post my works on the Home page of this blog, so check there for updates!
